W-league – Rd 5 – Melbourne Victory – v – Newcastle Jets
Really hot day for a soccer match! 30 degrees in the shade. Victory pulled out a goal in the 93rd minute to win the match 2-1. Match was played at the Veneto Club, the first time an artificial surface has been used in the W-League. Pics here

A-league – Melbourne v Adelaide
Images from A-League action 24 October at Etihad Stadium, Melbourne. Good crowd of over 20,000 – shot most of the first half with a 1.7x extender on the 400mm as all the action was down at the Adelaide goal. Thought the 2nd half would be down at my end so I shot without the 1.7x but not much action as it turned out. High res slideshow is here.
